Woodmont Charter School Receives $250,000 Grant
Walton Family Foundation expands education choices to low-income students.
Woodmont Charter School has been awarded a $250,000 grant from the Walton Family Foundation, an organization that invests in charter schools to raise student achievement primarily in low-income communities. In order to receive the grant, the recipient must show a record or plan of success and have at least half of its student body qualify for free or reduced lunch. “The Walton Family Foundation’s dedication to ensuring high quality choices among those who are less fortunate should be highly commended,” said Kathleen Stow, principal of Woodmont Charter School, in a press release. “We will use this money to help put textbooks into the hands of low-income students and will be able to hire tutors to help them on their road to success.” …
