Check Out New City Council Chambers

The Temple Terrace City Council will have its first meeting in the newly-renovated room Tuesday evening.

The outdated City Council Chambers at City Hall have been given a new look befitting the 21st century. The renovation that began March 25 is now complete, and the council will have its first meeting in the updated room Tuesday, March 7, at 6 p.m. The renovation was a basic package that the city can build on when it has more money in its budget, according to Temple Terrace Mayor Frank Chillura. “It’s beautiful—really nice,” Chillura said of the modernization. “It’s just a nice, professional environment now.” City Hall was built in 1977, but there is no information on whether the council chambers have undergone previous renovations, city spokesman Michael Dunn said. Check Out the Construction on the City Council Chambers

The City Council Chambers are undergoing a renovation to update the look of the room. As a result, the April 2 City Council meeting will take place at Lightfoot Recreation Center.

The outdated City Council Chambers are getting a makeover. A renovation to bring a more modern look to the chambers at City Hall began March 25, and the project is expected to be complete by the end of April, said city spokesman Michael Dunn. While the room is being renovated, the April 2 City Council workshop and meeting will take place at Lightfoot Recreation Center. The workshop begins at 5 p.m., and you can find the agenda here. Ok Temple Terrace Resident, they make good points! Without writing editorials or protesting, how in the world could we be part of the solution?? I'm over Temple Terrace and would move if I could, hopefully some day. I know our rants don't change anything, but I'm sure you vent from time to time. Golf Carts On Way To Being Street Legal in Temple Terrace

Residents who want to park their cars and cruise city streets in their golf carts can begin registering with the city in October.

  Starting next year you won’t have to confine your golf cart to the links. The Temple Terrace City Council approved a measure allowing golf carts on city streets starting Jan. 1, 2013. Currently, golf carts are only allowed to be driven to and from the Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club. The approval only applies to city streets, however. You won’t be able to legally ply state or county roads such as 56th Street or Fletcher and Fowler avenues. And you have to use the golf cart tunnels to cross Bullard Parkway. Other than state, county or federal roads, the streets of Temple Terrace will be the open road for golf carts. But if you want to tool around Temple Terrace in a golf cart, you need to register with the city starting Oct. 1. There …

We need less code enforcement officers and more police officers in Temple Terrace. If code enforcement has the man power to enforce golf cart in fractions we have to many code enforcement officers and not enough police officers.   more ›
