Inspirational Story Behind First Buddy Baseball Scholarship

Delaney Stano, 18, has been participating in the non-profit league for three years.

Not only does the program foster friendships, it also allows children with special needs to be part of a team. The non-profit program draws kids from all over the Tampa area. Seasons are played in the spring and fall at the Temple Terrace Family Recreation Complex softball fields. The league just wrapped up it’s spring season …

Temple Terrace Pickleball Makes Headlines

Local advocates of the sport were featured recently on Fox 13.

It was lights, cameras, action at the Temple Terrace Family Recreation Complex recently as a crew from Fox 13 visited to find out more about pickleball. The sport, similar to tennis with some unique distinctions, has become a popular pursuit locally since it was introduced at the recreation center back in January. The news crew spoke with players and instructor Manny Mariani to get a lesson in the game. Mariani explained the sport’s cardio value and said “it’s almost like being at the gym for two hours.” To check out Fox 13’s video, visit the station’s website. Want to learn more about pickleball?
