I would just like to add that we haved enjoyed taking our grandchildren(age 8 and 5 presentlty)andRead More their Dad and Uncles to Veterans Park, Route 301, just south of MLK Blvd., Tampa, FL, each Veterans Day for the past several years. It is amazing how much this Park has grown in terms of military history on display, and thoughtful memorials to those who served in each of the many conflicts in the past. I think it is the plan to commerorate each war with a suitable historical display and tribute to those who served. While our grandson 8 has enjoyed reading and learning about about past conflicts like WWII and WWI this past year and can identify many of the armaments like helicopters, tanks, etc. on display outside and rifles inside the museum there, our granddaughter just seems to enjoy the park like setting, climbing on the low stone walls, enjoying the flowers and, though we didn't do it this time round, throwing rocks in the water of the Hillsborough River Bypass Canal along which the Park sits. She also liked reading the names of the veterans inscribed on the pavers outside the building. One encounters many living veterans as well who are often willing to talk about their experience, or who express their emotion without speech at serveral displays. It is well worth the trip to this Park to help children relate to Veterans Day.

Ken, this will never happen as long as obama, reid, pelosi and the rest of the democratic party seeRead More them as a potential voting block and members of their dependent entitlement army of lemmings.

This country has wasted more money and continues to waste more money trying to enforce unenforceableRead More laws when it could take in a whole lot of money by way of taxes (and act humanely) if it could find an organized, rational way of putting those who want to be citizens on the proper path. As for the silly comment about the prison population: poor people who see no hope commit crimes, and that does not apply only to immigrants, legal or otherwise.

Interesting that the City's "negotiating team" with Vlass consists of the City Attorney,Read More the City Manager and ONE elected official-the Mayor-which ensures that the meetings can be held in private and still conform to Florida Sunshine laws. Also, the Mayor owns property on the north fringe of the development but no one has asked if this presents a conflict of interest. Guess all is well in TT at City Hall.

WOW APPARENTLY YOU DIDN'T KNOW THE FORMER MAYOR MET MANY TIMES ALONE WITH THE DEVELOPER, THIS MAYORRead More AND COUNCIL ARE FOLLOWING THE PROPER PROCEDURE, MAYOR CHILURA IS VERY BUSINESS AND DETAIL ORIENTED, IF YOU KNOW HE AND COUNCIL YOU WOULD KNOW THAT THEY ARE DOING EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE REQUIRED TO DO LEGALLY.

Alex, as usual, that is an absurd observation. The new Sweetbay complex, Main Street, and 56th StRead More is many times better than the old obsolete strip mall. Infrastructure is often installed at the beginning of a large project like this.
