Pizzo Elementary School serves students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth. The school opened in 1998 and was named after Anthony P. Pizzo, an Ybor City native and Hillsborough County historian who founded the Tampa Historical Society and collected, wrote and lectured on Tampa history until he died in 1994. Pizzo partners with the University of South Florida to prepare preservice teachers and provide continuous staff development. The school's mascot is the bull, and the school colors are green and gold.
