Hurricane Predictions Trimmed, But Not By Much

The National Hurricane Center issued a revised outlook report for the 2013 Atlantic Hurricane Season. While forecasters anticipate a slightly less active season than thought earlier in the year, they still say there’s a 70 percent chance for an “above-normal season” when it comes to activity levels.

As it stands now, the government’s forecasting agency anticipates we’ll see 13 to 19 named storms; 6 to 9 hurricanes; and 3 to 5 major hurricanes. This only a few less storms than predicted back in May of this year.

Remember, folks, hurricane season continues until Nov. 30, so we still have a long way to go.
