Girl Scouts Receive Gold Awards

A special reception took place June 9.


From the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida:

Girl Scouts of West Central Florida (GSWCF) celebrated the 45 Girl Scouts who received their Girl Scout Gold Awards—the highest award in Girl Scouting—at a reception in their honor at the on June 9.

This year’s Girl Scout Gold Award recipients—including —completed projects focused on a variety of community issues that will have a lasting impact, including bringing awareness to the plight in Northern Uganda, creating memory books for foster kids, raising awareness about pet obesity and texting while driving, developing reading programs for younger kids, and planting 5,000 salt marsh plugs, just to name a few.

They represented Clearwater, Dunedin, Land O’ Lakes, Lutz, Ocala, Odessa, Palm Harbor, Plant City, Riverview, Seminole, St. Petersburg, Tampa, Tarpon Springs, Temple Terrace and Valrico.
