Face Painting for a Cause

Several local service clubs joined forces to help MADD raise money and awareness.

Members of three woman’s groups came together last month to add to the festivities during Walk like MADD on the University of South Florida campus.

The GFWC Temple Terrace Junior Woman’s Club, Temple Terrace Juniorettes and the Lutz-Pasco Juniors set up a face painting table during the fundraiser. According to a press release, the clubs frequently support community fundraising events such as the MADD walk.

The annual walk took place March 23 and is staged to help raise awareness about the dangers and consequences of drunk driving. It also raises money for the local MADD chapter so it can continue its efforts throughout the year. According to the MADD website, the walk raised more than $59,000 this year.
