Fireworks Cut-Off Time Sparks Conversation

Now that the price of fireworks has dropped after the holiday, maybe we can all agree to put them away a bit earlier.

Hearing fireworks throughout our neighborhoods is common place around the Fourth of July, but when does it go too far?

We asked on the boards and on Facebook if people keep their Independence Day parties going too late, long after others have went to bed. And, users responded with a flurry of comments.

"I love fireworks, but not at 1am, night after night," David Long wrote on Facebook.

While it seems some residents understand that on the Fourth of July, parties may go a bit late, it's the rest of the week's late nights that are irksome.

"On the 4th, I don't mind it late but on the days before and after, I'd rather they stop by 10 at the latest," wrote Lucie Darkes.

"It's a matter of respect," says Krystal Guerra. "Too many people forget others have small children, jobs and early mornings and can't get anything done or sleep well with rockets firing off all night."

So, now that the price of fireworks has dropped after the holiday, maybe we can all agree to put them away a bit earlier, and no later than midnight. And, wouldn't it be nice if everyone considered who has pets and kids living next door that may like a break even earlier?
