County to Host Sports Concussion Prevention Seminar

The seminar will take place Saturday, April 6 at the All People's Life Center.

Youth sports coaches, medical professionals, athletes and parents are invited to attend a seminar on the dangers of concussions and second-impact syndrome for athletes.

The free seminar, hosted by the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department's Athletic Services in partnership with USF's S.M.A.R.T. Institute, will take place Saturday, April 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. at All People's Life Center, 6105 E. Sligh Ave., Tampa.

The seminar is designed to help attendees recognize the symptoms of a concussion and teach them how to prevent further harm.
