Sun Dome Expected to be Ready for USF Graduation

The ceremonies will take place May 4 and 5.

The is scheduled to be ready to accommodate the 's graduation ceremonies May 4 and 5.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for May 1 at 4 p.m. outside of Gate A.

For months, the USF Sun Dome has undergone renovations. More than 112,800 man hours have been logged since the project began last summer, according to Sara Webster, director of Marketing for the Sun Dome.

Skanska, a construction group, is heading the project. The Sun Dome is being managed by Philadelphia-based Global Spectrum.

“We are very excited to manage the USF Sun Dome and work in conjunction with the University of South Florida and the Athletic Department,” said Trent Merritt, general manager for the USF Sun Dome in a press release. “The University has done an outstanding job in the planning and execution of this project. We look forward to bringing a great variety of entertainment options to the Sun Dome and greater Tampa Bay area.”
