Garden Club Offers Grant Money To Teachers

Temple Terrace teachers have until July 1 to take advantage of the "Planting Seeds Through Education" grant program.

Temple Terrace Garden Club (TTGC) is offering grants to local teachers for the third year.

Planting Seeds Through Education grants are available to Temple Terrace public school teachers.

Applications were distributed to , , and schools this spring. Completed applications are due July 1. Grants will be awarded in September.

Teachers in any of the four schools may apply for the grants annually.

Project goals should focus on enhancement and development of an appreciation for nature; the growing of plants and trees; the protection of our environment through the conservation of our natural resources (air, soil and minerals), forests, waters and wildlife.

Up to $250 per school per year will be provided for the purchase of plants, seeds, educational materials, pots, containers and other items.

The application requires a project description, proposed budget and timeframe for completion.
