Jones comes to Florida College with a varied and accomplished basketball background. As a high school player at Hatley High School (Mississippi, 1970-74), she was a three-time All-State selection, leading her team to four state championships. She continued to excel at Delta State University (1974-78) where she was a four-year starter, three-time National Champion, two-time All-American, and eventual Delta State Hall of Fame inductee.

Since 1978, Jones has coached men and women in both college and high school, including Hillsborough, Armwood and Gaither high schools.

“After interviewing Cornelia on several occasions and hearing about her basketball and life philosophy, it became very obvious to me that her spiritual maturity, educational background and basketball acumen would be quite a combination to add to Florida College Women’s Basketball and hopefully take our program to a very high level,” Moorer said. “She is as excited about FC and our program as we are to have her.”
