Field Day Teaches Lewis Students About Fitness, Fun

The event included relay races and other physical activities.

From Tiffany Sperry, Lewis PTA member serving as yearbook adviser, publicity representative and historian:

hosted a Field Day May 3.

Students were grouped by grade levels and had 45 minutes of physical activities and friendly competitions. The event was organized by physical education coaches Albert and Soellner, along with Lewis parent Joey Affronti.

Students participated in many different relay races and a tug of war competition, while also dancing to music that was played from Mr. Bickel, our music teacher. They even cheered along their teachers, who competed with a basketball dribble race at the end.

Afterward, students were treated to popsicles and water. It was an important day for the children to not only have fun, but also learn that fitness can be exciting and rewarding!
