City Welcomes M&B Products to Town

The City of Temple Terrace has annexed the 140-acre dairy operation.

Dale McClellan called his relationship with the City of Temple Terrace "a long time in the making."

McClellan is president of M&B Products, a 140-acre dairy operation that distributes milk, juice and related products to schools, prisons and other instsistutions in 33 states. The city recently annexed the property, which is located at 8601 Harney Road.

"It is the largest private annexation in city history," said Mike Dunn, the city's public information officer.

On Thursday, city officials and the welcomed the corporation to Temple Terrace.

"Temple Terrace is working hard to build a relationship in this community," said McClellan, whose family has owned the property since the 1940s and had always had a reluctance toward annexation because of a "fear of the unknown."

That changed about five years ago after city officials began developing a relationship with the business, McClellan explained.

"When the mayor (Joe Affronti) came to see me, it reduced my fear," he said.

Now, McClellan said he's looking forward to helping Temple Terrace grow, and Temple Terrace helping his business grow.

"It's a big day for me," he said.

Maybe they can loan us some cows so we can get the agricultural property tax rate on the new Town Center Meadow.
