Community Invited to Redevelopment Ceremony

A dedication ceremony for a new park and gazebo in the Temple Terrace downtown redevelopment area will take place Dec. 1.

The downtown redevelopment project will reach a milestone Dec. 1 when a special ceremony is scheduled to unveil and dedicate the new .

The event will begin at 2 p.m. in the center of the redevelopment area, which is located in the former Terrace Plaza shopping center at the southeast corner of Bullard Parkway and 56th Street.

Light snacks and beverages will be provided, and everyone in the community is invited to attend.

The ceremony will feature remarks from Temple Terrace Mayor Joe Affronti, former mayor Fran Barford, and City Manager Kim Leinbach, according to a press release from Mike Dunn, the city’s public information officer.

Michael Vlass, president of Vlass Temple Terrace LLC, the city’s master developer, will talk about the project’s progress and timeline, the release states. Temple Terrace City Council members, along with other dignitaries and special guests, also will attend.

“It’s just a way to kind of cap off everything that’s been going on in the redevelopment area,” Dunn explained during a luncheon Wednesday.
