City Seeks Planning Commission Member

The City of Temple Terrace is accepting applications from Temple Terrace residents interested in being considered to serve as the city’s representative on the Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission.

The regular meetings of the Planning Commission take place on the second Monday of each month at 2 p.m., at the offices of the Planning Commission, 18th Floor, 601 E. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa.

Members are appointed by each local government in the county for a four-year term; Temple Terrace has one appointee who serves without remuneration, and financial disclosure is required.

The Planning Commission and its staff serve as agents within the community to promote and coordinate the involvement of all people in comprehensive long-range planning, growth management, transportation, and environmental protection.

The Planning Commission makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners, the Tampa City Council, the Plant City Commission, and the Temple Terrace City Council regarding land use, community planning, capital improvements, urban design, and other comprehensive issues.

Those interested in serving as the city’s appointment to the Planning Commission should call the City Clerk’s office at 813-506-6440 for a Citizen Board Handbook and application. All applications must be returned to the City Clerk, 11250 N. 56th St., Temple Terrace, Florida, 33617, no later than Nov. 7.

Equal consideration will be given to persons submitting applications and persons recommended by members of the City Council.
