City Closed, County Open Good Friday

Temple Terrace residents hoping to get a little business done with a city agency on Good Friday are out of luck. All municipal government offices will be closed on Friday in observance of the city’s annual “Spring Holiday,” according to a city media release.

The closings include residential trash pickup, the Temple Terrace Library and the Lightfoot Recreation Center. The city’s Family Recreation Complex, however, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 29, but will close on Easter, March 31.

Residents who have a public works-related emergency on Friday can call 813-506-6590 for help.

While city employees enjoy a day off, it’s business as usual March 29 for Hillsborough County agencies. Garbage collection will also continue as normal for residents outside the city limits of Temple Terrace. The county clerk’s office plans to stay open, but offices of the 13th Judicial Circuit will close.

Some Easter Sunday closings are planned at Hillsborough County. Animal Services, for example, will only be open from 1 to 5 p.m. for adoptions and lost pet searches. All public libraries will also close.

Most agencies will also close on Easter Sunday, but regional parks will remain open.
