UPDATE: Reward Offered in Village Oaks Shooting

The shooter who killed a man at the Village Oaks Apartments Tuesday morning has not been identified.

Jobree Platt’s address has been identified as 24920 Siena Drive in Lutz, according to Michael Dunn, the city’s public information officer.

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the suspect in the case of a fatal shooting at Tuesday morning.

The is continuing to investigate the death of , 31. The shooting suspect in the case is described as a black male, about 6-feet-4-inches tall, according to a City of Temple Terrace press release. He was wearing black clothing and a ski mask at the time of the shooting. He remains at large.

Anyone with any information regarding the identity and whereabouts of the suspect who wants to be eligible for a cash reward can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS(8477), report anonymously online at www.crimestopperstb.com, text "CSTB plus your tip" to 274637 (CRIMES) or send a mobile tip using the "Tipsubmit Mobile" application, which is a free download for iPhones, iPads and Droids.

Platt had been visiting a relative at the apartment complex, located at 8575 Montravail Circle, according to the release. The two had gone out overnight, and as they returned to the complex at about 4:50 a.m., the shooter appeared in the breezeway near the elevator.

After a verbal confrontation ensued, the shooter pulled a handgun and fired, hitting and killing Platt, the release states.

Platt’s home address has not been confirmed, and police said he might have recently moved from Temple Terrace, according to the release.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search for the shooting suspect, sending a K-9 and helicopter unit, the release states.

The  apartment complex was  in a series of auto burglaries. Violent crimes, however, have not been reported there in recent months.
