Temple Terrace Woman Involved in Fatal Motorcycle Crash

An Apollo Beach man is dead following a motorcycle crash yesterday afternoon on Adamo Drive.

According to the Tampa Police Department, David Crossman, 28, of Apollo Beach and his passenger Francesca Pontecorvo, also of Apollo Beach, were traveling west on Adamo in the outside lane around 3:30 p.m. April 12. When Crossman’s motorcycle entered the intersection of North 39th Street, it struck the rear quarter panel of a Ford Mustang driven by Jessie Gulledge Hicks, 58, of Temple Terrace. Hicks was attempting to turn north onto 39th Street.

When Crossman struck the car, both he and Pontecorvo were thrown from motorcycle, a Tampa Police Department media release said. Crossman died at the scene. Pontecorvo received non-life-threatening injuries. Hicks was uninjured in the crash.

Both Crossman and Pontecorvo were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.

No charges have been filed and the accident remains under investigation.
