Man Rescued From Burning Car

A single-car accident in the early morning hours of Feb. 23 left one man trapped as his car burst into flames.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and the Temple Terrace Police Department teamed up early Feb. 23 to save a man trapped in a burning car.

The incident took place early this morning, Feb. 23, when a vehicle hit a tree and went up in flames in the area of 127th Avenue and 58th Street. The car was occupied by two people at the time.

The passenger was able to get out, but the driver was unconscious and trapped, a Hillsborough County Fire Rescue media release states.

“A Hillsborough County Sheriff Deputy and a Temple Terrace Police Officer arrived on scene first and were able to rescue the unconscious driver from the burning car saving his life,” the release said.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire upon arrival and transported the victim to an area trauma center.

The passenger was also taken to an area hospital in fair condition.

No other details are available at this time and the victims’ names have yet to be released.
