Deputies Looking For Information In Death Of Sean Buchanan

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of Sean Michael Buchanan, 26.

Buchanan, who lived on Riverchase Drive South in Temple Terrace, was found dead in his Toyota Corolla on May 31 down an embankment in a wooded area behind Regency Square Shopping Center in Brandon, according to the sheriff’s office. He had just seen a movie at Regency.

Although Buchanan was discovered in his vehicle, he had trauma to his upper body that is not consistent with a traffic crash, deputies say.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone that was in the area and might have seen Buchanan or his car to call 813-247-8200.

Editor's Note: According to updated reports from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Buchanan was not found dead in his car. He was alive at the time of his discovery and transported to Tampa General Hospital where he passed away from upper body injuries he had sustained.
