Crime Report: Thieves Steal Bike, A/C Unit

A 9-year-old boy was riding his bicycle in the area when he was approached by a group of seven to eight male teenagers who may attend , according to Tracy Mishler, community service officer with the .

One of the subjects in the group demanded that the victim hand over the bicycle, and the victim refused, Mishler said. Eventually, the suspect pushed the victim off the bicycle and took it, riding it west on 113th Avenue toward North 62nd Street.

The next day, police arrested a 15-year-old Greco Middle School student and recovered the stolen bicycle, Mishler said.

An unknown subject stole the entire outside air-conditioning unit from a vacant home that is for sale, Mishler said.

This is the fourth similar crime recently in this neighborhood in which vacant homes have had an air-conditioning unit stolen, Mishler said.
