Crime Report: Thieves Break into Homes, Cars

The following information was supplied by Community Service Officer Tracy Mishler of the Temple Terrace Police Department.


Burglary Residence

6200 block of Quiet Waters Place
Sometime between June 22 and 27
Someone entered the back screen porch of the home and took a flat screen TV from the enclosed porch, according to Community Service Officer Tracy Mishler.

11300 block of Regal Square Drive in Victoria Terrace Townhomes
Sometime between June 17 at 11 p.m. and June 18 at 7 a.m.
Someone went into a townhome and took an Xbox video game, Mishler said. Police don’t know how someone got into the unit, but the front door was possibly left unlocked.

On June 28, the resident told police that he had received a text message from an associate who had information regarding the burglary and was willing to share it if the resident provided money, Mishler said. A meeting was arranged and police picked up the associate who then provided information on the burglary. Police found that a juvenile who lives in the townhomes committed the burglary and were able to recover the video game with the help of the juvenile’s mother.

Attempted Grant Theft
11700 block of Raintree Boulevard
June 28, 12:06 p.m.
Maintenance workers in Raintree Village Townhomes saw someone trying to steal a golf card used by maintenance, Mishler said. The maintenance workers told their supervisor who followed the person into the Summit West Apartments. Responding officers found and arrested the person.

5300 block of Mission Hills Avenue
July 2, between 10:50 a.m. and 1:50 p.m.
Someone got into an unlocked 2002 Nissan SUV with the window partially down and took a large purse and its contents, Mishler said.

6000 block of Laketree Lane
July 2, between 1:50 and 4:48 p.m.
Someone entered a townhome through an unlocked front door while the resident went for a walk, Mishler said. The inside of the residence was ransacked.

July 3, overnight
Someone broke the passenger side window of a 2011 Kia and took a laptop computer, Mishler said.

11300 block of Stratton Park Drive
July 3, 5:55 a.m.
Someone came into the unlocked screened back porch of a townhome and appeared to be looking to steal something, Mishler said. The resident’s friend saw the person and tried to find him but couldn’t.

The person, who is thought to live in the Victoria Terrace Townhomes, is described as a black male, age 16-20, 5-feet-9-inches to 5-feet-11-inches tall, 150-180 pounds, with short hair and a light complexion, Mishler said. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt and black and white pajama pants.

Sometime between July 2 at 6 p.m. and July 3 at 7:30 a.m.
Someone entered the back fenced-in yard and enclosed patio of the home and took three to five fishing poles and a fishing tackle box, Mishler said.

500 block of Nantucket Drive
July 4, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
A woman parked her 2011 Lexus on Nantucket Drive to watch the July 4 parade, Mishler said.

Someone smashed a rear window and stole several check books from a briefcase located inside the car, Mishler said. A resident said two suspicious males had been looking in cars while walking on Nantucket Drive during the parade.

The first is described as a black male, age 20-30, 5-feet-11-inches to 6-feet tall, 140-160 pounds, with a dread lock hair style, Mishler said. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and black shorts.

The second is described as a black male, age 20-30, 5-feet-11-inches to 6-feet tall, 140-160 pounds, with short hair, Mishler said. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and jeans.

11800 block of Skylake Place (Raintree Village Townhomes)
July 5, 2:42 a.m.
Residents came home to find someone leaving a back bedroom, Mishler said. The residents confronted the person, who told them he had permission to use the restroom. He then fled on foot to the back door, which had been pried open.

One of the residents chased the man for a short distance, and then contacted police, Mishler said. Police found that the man an employee of a landscaping crew doing work in the area. Officers located the man, who had a pry tool in his possession. He was arrested. A cell phone was taken from the home and was not found.

Sometime between July 5 at 9:15 p.m. and July 6 at 7:15 a.m.
Someone partially broke a stained glass window adjacent to the front door of the residence, Mishler said. No entry was made and nothing was taken.

6610 Whiteway Drive ()
July 6, between 6:10 and 6:20 p.m.
Someone smashed out the right rear passenger side window of a 2005 Toyota SUV and took a purse and contents.

Shooting
8700 block of Morrison Oaks Court (Bridgefort Oaks Subdivision)
July 7. 12:25 a.m.
Police responded to a report of shots fired, MIshler said. They found two vehicles at the scene. Several gunshots had been fired in the neighborhood. One innocent vehicle and home had received damage from bullets. No one was injured.

Police are actively following leads on this case, Mishler said.

8700 block of Morrison Oaks Court
Sometime between July 18 at 9 p.m. and July 19 at 12:01 a.m.
Someone entered a back screened in patio of home and got inside home through a pet door, Mishler said. Taken were three flat screen plasma TVs and some jewelry.

12200 block of North 51st Street
July 23, overnight
Someone entered an open garage and took a men’s bicycle, Mishler said.

Criminal Mischief
11200 block of North 63rd Street
July 25, overnight
Someone damaged and spray painted several mail boxes and a sidewalk, and damaged a stop sign and a speed limit sign in the area, Mishler said. 

Burglary Other
11702 Raintree Village Boulevard (Raintree Village Townhomes)
July 26, overnight
A contractor found damage to a fence indicating someone had entered the boat storage area, Mishler said. Nothing appeared to be missing from any of the boats.
