Crime Report: 1 Burglar Arrested, Another Remains at Large

The following information was supplied by Community Service Officer Tracy Mishler of the Temple Terrace Police Department.

Burglary Residence
Jan. 30, 9:43 a.m.
9800 block of Morris Glen Way
A neighbor saw a suspicious vehicle backed into the driveway of the home and saw a person knocking on the front door of the home to check if anyone was home, according to Community Service Officer Tracy Mishler.

The neighbor immediately contacted the police department, Mishler said. Responding officers discovered that the person had attempted to enter home by prying open a window.

The neighbor was able to obtain the person's vehicle tag number, and officers found the person and made an arrest, Mishler said.

Arrested was Jude G. Matthew, 20, of Temple Terrace. He was taken to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and released on $2,000 bond, according to arrest records.

6100 block of Whiteway Drive
An unknown person entered the home through an unlocked rear kitchen window, Mishler said.

The person took a laptop computer and some costume jewelry, Mishler said. Police suspect the person might have been on a bicycle as none of the larger electronics in the home were taken.
