4 Arrested in Cocaine Trafficking Bust

The men are accused of trying to buy a kilo from undercover officers.

A two-week undercover drug investigation in north Tampa ended yesterday afternoon with the arrest of four men from out of town.

According to a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office media release, the county’s Major Violators Unit teamed up with the Tampa Police Department for the investigation that led to the arrest of four men. The men were arrested at 12:30 p.m. yesterday outside the at 1727 Busch Blvd., said sheriff’s office spokeswoman Debbie Carter.

The foursome stands accused of trying to purchase a kilogram of cocaine for $34,000, the press release said. All four men are from outside of the Tampa Bay area.

“The suspects, Reynaldo Garcia, Eric McGill, Elijah Banks and Thomas Snell were all charged with conspiracy to traffic in cocaine over 400 grams,” Carter wrote in the media release. “Suspects Banks and McGill, both being convicted felons, brought a 9 mm pistol to the scene and were also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.”

Law enforcement seized a Ford Expedition, a Chrysler van and $34,000.00 cash.

Snell, 37, is from Lauderdale Lakes. McGill, 50, is from Palm Coast. Banks, 41, lives in East Palatka. Garcia, 39, is of Brooksville.

Hi Lucinda, Temple Terrace Patch covers a portion of north Tampa, including both the USF and Busch Gardens area. Hope that helps clarify.

17th street is not close enough to USF or Busch Gardens to justify your argument Sherri. All you are doing is giving another black eye (unjustified) to a part of TT that is trying to shake the suitcase city image.

MY argument exactly!!! Sherri you keep spouting the same excuse each and every time you place a story thats just filler for you.Name it the Busch Gardens patch if you want to keep posting crap that's not even close to our city.!! On Busch Blvd. Temple Terrace STARTS at 52nd St. headed East. Your story is 17th St.!!!!!!! not even Close! If you call it the Temple Terrace patch try to keep it with TEMPLE TERRACE!!!! IF you want to put in filler stories so you don't have to do extra work keep it to say 50th st. there's enough garbage there to make some stories.

Thanks so much for the comments and input! We strive to keep readers informed on news that's happening both within the city limits and in the neighboring north Tampa area. We do cover a pretty large chunk of north Tampa outside the Temple Terrace city limits proper. The Amscot store in the story is in our service area and our business directory.
