1 Arrested in Overnight Home Invasion

Officers don't believe the break-in was a random incident.

One person has been arrested and four others remain wanted following an overnight home invasion at on East Busch Boulevard.

According to Tampa Police Department spokeswoman Andrea Davis, the incident took place around 12:47 a.m. July 6 when five people armed with guns are said to have broken into an apartment occupied by two women. The suspects took a television, cell phones and car keys from the women.

After the suspects left the apartment, they took one of the victim’s cars, Davis said. The car was found around 4 a.m. by Tampa Police officers. Following a short pursuit, the suspects jumped out of the car in the area of 30th and Cayuga streets.

One person has been arrested, but the others remain at large, Davis said.

Neither woman was injured during the incident.
