Bees Buzz By Beautiful Blooms

Each Sunday, we'll post a photo of Temple Terrace nature from someone in the community as our Sunday Nature Photo.

When I went to Thursday for the (check for a story about it Monday morning), Cori Collins, the city's recreation supervisor, told me to check out the bees humming around the tiny pink flowers nearby.

She said the scene would make for a beautiful photo, and boy was she right! I put my Nikon D40 on the macro setting, positioned it close to the ground, and started snapping without looking through the viewfinder.

Out of the multiple pictures I took, these two turned out the best in my opinion. What do you think?

Do you have a local nature photo you’d like to share? Email it to ashley.reams@patch.com and it could be featured on a future Sunday.

Nice photos, plant is Mimosa Strigillosa or Sunshine Mimosa, it is a FL native groundcover that is increasingly used in lieu of grass in yards, we started growing it in our front yard. Doesn't need watering, fertlizer, pesticide, an occassional mowing is good.
