Friends, Family Mourn Eagle Scout, Musician, Gourmet Cook

Matthew Christopher Laszlo Roberts of Temple Terrace died July 10 at the age of 23.

Family and friends will gather Monday, July 15 to celebrate the life of Matthew Christopher Laszlo Roberts of Temple Terrace.

Roberts died unexpectedly in his sleep on July 10 at the age of 23.

Born in Naples, Italy on March 20, 1990, he was adopted by Don and Carolyn Roberts. 

Roberts attended Corpus Christi Catholic School, Jesuit, King High School and Hillsborough Community College.

Known as a free spirit, Roberts was a gourmet cook, a composer and musician and an Eagle Scout who earned three Silver Palms.

He loved playing video games, going to the beach, and hanging out with his friends. 

He will be remembered as a good friend and gentle soul who touched so many lives in his short time on earth.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Archie and Carol Lashford of Texarkana, Texas.  

A funeral Mass will be held at Monday, July 15 at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Temple Terrace, followed by interment in Sunset Memory Gardens, Thonotosassa.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Humane Society, the Boy Scouts of America or the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
