Moffitt Cancer Center Hosts S.A.F.E. Program For Cancer Survivors

SAFE - Survivors Applying Faith & Encouragement meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month.

Moffitt Cancer Center’s Witness Project of Tampa Bay created the S.A.F.E. program to unite cancer survivors and increase the optimal well-being of each person.  The WITNESS Project is a national faith-based program that emphasizes the early detection and prevention of breast and cervical cancers in the black community through survivorship and healthy lifestyle choices.

The S.A.F.E. group complements the efforts of The WITNESS Project by providing a venue for survivors to discuss survivorship issues, while providing education, empowerment and encouragement.  The group participates in fun activities to increase self-esteem and cultivate strong relationships to rejoice in the sanctity of life through supporting one another.
