Water to be Restored to All by Morning

Ninety percent of North Tampa customers affected by the water main rupture should have water again tonight. The rest will be incrementally restored by morning.

Tampa Water Department crews are working to connect the newly completed segment of replacement transmission main along Bruce B. Downs to restore water service to approximately 90 percent of the customers affected by .

According to a news release, crews will continue to work throughout the evening and expect to incrementally restore water service to all customers by early tomorrow.

Take Precautions

Customers with restored service are encouraged to remove aerators and flush their plumbing at outdoor spigots and faucets if their water appears cloudy or if they experience low pressure, the release states.

All locations north of Fowler Avenue will remain under a precautionary boil
water notice until water quality testing is completed early next week. Updates
will be available online at tampagov.net/water.
