'Daily Show's' Mandvi Owes 'Everything' to Tampa

After ripping on Tampa for its , “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” wrapped up its stint taping from the David A. Straz Jr. Center during the Friday with Indian correspondent Aasif Mandvi paying tribute to his Tampa roots—including the time he spent working at .

The package, which was a web-only story for “The Daily Show,” finds the grad and former Tampa resident visiting his old amusement park boss, Entertainment Director Alan Talbot.

“Not everyone goes from Busch Gardens to become the most prolific on-screen doctor in modern cinema,” Mandvi says of himself in the tongue-in-cheek piece. “And I owe everything I am to Tampa.”

He also visits Gandy Beach, the Clearwater Hooters and Mons Venus.
