MOSI's Harvest Moon

The Sept. 10 event was designed to teach participants about Native American culture.

The  was a new event at this year, designed to educate participants about the science behind the seasons and entertain with hands-on activities for people of all ages.

Guests learned about the September Equinox and how it was used by Native Americans to signal the start of crop harvesting. By combining samplings of dance, music, jewelry making and Native American style food with stargazing, guests had a multi-faceted experience of the season.

The evening ended atop the IMAX dome where everyone enjoyed looking at the full moon and fall constellations through several of MOSI’s telescopes.
