Temple Terrace Singers Help Toast of Tampa Win Regional Championship

The show chorus has qualified to compete in Hawaii next year.

The Toast of Tampa Show Chorus, under the direction of Master Director Tony DeRosa, soared high above its competitors April 21 in Daytona Beach to bring home the regional singing championship an 11th time. This qualifies the Tampa area chorus to compete on the international stage in Hawaii in 2013. The 120-member women’s a cappella chorus earned a high 681 A/A- level score, its’ second highest in 25 years.

Temple Terrace residents Beth Bosserman Curts, Barbara Rutkin and Carol Singleton are proud members of the Toast of Tampa, which for many years rehearsed at the , formerly located in the .

Currently fifth-place medalists, Toast’s ladies have represented Florida in Houston, Baltimore (where they won best in world in 1994), Phoenix, Detroit, Calgary and Nashville. Audiences have voted them “favorite” of more than 630 Sweet Adeline choruses in 14 countries.

Tampa area women of all ages are invited to come to rehearsals on Tuesday nights at 2901 Bayshore Blvd. in Tampa to learn about the purely American craft of singing and dancing in four-part harmony, and see why these hometown stars love what they do.
