Community Arts Festival Set for Nov. 10, 11

Artists can apply now to participate in this juried arts event.

It’s arguably the most fun weekend at .

Every year, during the second weekend in November, the park’s scenic oak trees become a canopy for the . The Hillsborough River provides a tranquil backdrop for the entertainment, food and of course, interesting fine art and crafts.

This year, the 39th annual event will take place Nov. 10 and 11, and if you’re an artist who’d like to participate, the Temple Terrace Arts Council is encouraging you to sign up early for this juried show to take advantage of the less expensive application fee. The price goes up after June 1.

Thousands of dollars worth of prizes will be awarded to participating artists at the discretion of experienced art judges.

Future artists from the area’s local elementary schools will be exhibiting their work along the during the festival. Their art will be judged and winners will receive awards.

The Temple Terrace Arts Council is able to sustain this event each year through the donations of its sponsors and the annual purchase of fine art from artists participating in the festival, which is later auctioned off during the .

"With a recent $2,500 donation to the City of Temple Terrace, the council has continued its commitment to our community," the council stated in a press release. "Some of the past projects include funding for a mural in the , the origami sculpture at the , hanging art at , renovations at and support for art programs for children at the Family Recreation Complex, and local elementary and middle school art programs."
