Arts Council Seeks Volunteers

The group is having a meeting Feb. 14 for those interested in joining.

The Temple Terrace Arts Council is busy making plans for the coming year.

On Feb. 14, the council will host a Volunteer Recruitment Meeting at 9:15 a.m. at the .

Area residents and other interested parties can become part of this dedicated group of volunteers who are responsible for the annual in beautiful Riverhills Park on the scenic Hillsborough River. The juried arts festival, which takes place the second weekend in November, brings artists and shoppers from all over the United States.

Partnering with the Temple Terrace Garden Club, the Arts Council will present their second annual Art Show and Sale at Spring Market in on March 17 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Plans are also in the works for an art event at in May, and a Summer Music Series at an undetermined location. 

The Temple Terrace Arts Council has been providing the community with art donations, funding art projects and having art festivals for more than 38 years. With a recent $2,500 donation to the , the council has continued its commitment to the Temple Terrace community.

Some of the council’s past projects include funding for a mural in the , the origami sculpture at the , hanging art at the Lightfoot Recreation Center, renovations at Woodmont Clubhouse, and support for art programs for children.
