The 2013 Temple Terrace Relay for Life was a success, according to chairwoman Jamie Klingman.

“Relay for Life of Temple Terrace went great,” she wrote in an email Monday after resting up from the 18-hour event that began Friday at 6 p.m. and ended Saturday at noon.

Just less than $70,000 has been raised for the American Cancer Society (ACS) so far, and participants are continuing to collect donations and turn them in by May 20. To donate, visit the Relay for Life of Temple Terrace online donation page.

“The Temple Terrace community came out in force to Celebrate, Remember, and Fight Back against cancer,” Klingman wrote. “While celebrating the 100th anniversary of ACS, we hope that this year will be the last year we have to Relay, because we will have found a cure with the money we’ve raised!”
