Mushrooms Grow on Forest Stump

Each Sunday, we'll post a photo of Temple Terrace nature from someone in the community as our Sunday Nature Photo.

If you’ve ever heard about the beauty of the fairy-tale forests in Europe, I can tell you that the stories are true.

One of my best friends lives in Finland, and I was lucky enough to travel there last year for a visit. We explored the city of Helsinki and its suburbs, but we also ventured to her sister’s summer cottage in the woods.

There, I felt like I had been transported to the world of Snow White or Sleeping Beauty. The forest was almost magical, saturated with gorgeous colors and thriving with vegetation and toadstools.

I was reminded of my trip last week when I was walking my dogs near my house and came across this tiny stump with mushrooms growing from it.

It seemed a tiny piece of the forest had found me in Temple Terrace.

Do you have a local nature photo you’d like to share? Email it to ashley.reams@patch.com and it could be featured on a future Sunday.

Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.
Confucius Thank you Ashley for sharing the picture and the visualization of that forest. Both are beautiful.

Amen! NO WALLY WORLD!! Sweat Tomatoes time has passed in my opinion. What I would like is a BestRead More Buy type of store somewhere where you can electronics and such. We used to have a Circuit city on Fowler along with a real nice book store, then the pressure of being so close to suitcase city forced them all to close or move to New Tampa. It's real sad, I feel I speak for most of us In saying we need a good variety of businesses local to Temple Terrace to shop at.
