Junior Woman's Club Adopts Manatee

The Temple Terrace Juniors are participating in the Share the Care program at Lowry Park Zoo.

Members of the GFWC Temple Terrace Junior Woman’s Club Conservation Department have adopted a manatee at .

After conducting research of different ways the Conservation Department could spend the money that it had raised, the women decided that adopting an animal from the zoo would help keep the money as local as possible, said Coleen Garner, department chairperson.

“We believe the zoo is a great asset to the Tampa Bay community and offers not only a good time, but many learning aspects for children and adults alike,” Garner said.
