Fluffy and Ziggy are Best Friends

Elizabeth Leib shares her dog and cat for our Pet of the Week.

This week’s pets belong to , her husband, Mark, and her son, Jeremy.

Fluffy the Pomeranian was a gift from a friend who could no longer care for her. She joined the Leib family three years ago. Fluffy is a social butterfly, who has sleep-overs at the neighbor’s house.

“Whenever I have her out in the yard, she slips away to socialize with her various human and dog friends,” Elizabeth said. “I either get a call or have to go hunting for her.”

Ziggy is a rescue cat, who was found in a dumpster with his brother and sister. The Leib family adopted him two years ago from the St. Francis Animal Adoption Society. He is affectionate with them but standoffish with anyone else. He loves Fluffy and will groom her when they are lying on the bed.

“His best friend is a young cat who lives next door,” Elizabeth said, “they play on our roof together.”
