Community Garden Fence Set to Sprout Saturday

The fence will surround the group’s second garden, which will have individual plots and is expected to open this fall.

From the Temple Terrace Community Garden:

Members of the will begin building their second garden plot on Saturday, June 9, from 8 a.m. to 1p.m. at near the current plot at .

Community garden members have organized into work groups to build the north and south sides of the garden fence, a compost bin made of woven timber and demonstration garden plots.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are invited to watch and help with construction of demonstration plots made of various materials. Demonstration plots will give members a chance to view and discuss the pros and cons of particular building materials in anticipation of the garden’s grand opening this fall.

Participants are encouraged to bring folding chairs, sunscreen and cold drinks.
