DanceUSF is excited to present works by our talented faculty and exceptional students in the Spring Dance Concert.  This concert features work by our newest faculty member, Bliss Kohlmyer, as well as faculty members Paula Nunez and John Parks and guest artist Rosie Herrera as well as original works choreographed by some of DanceUSF's most talented students!

PPLEASE NOTE:  This performance is not suitable for young children.

Connecting in Reverse

Choreographed by DanceUSF faculty member Bliss Kohlmyer

Connecting in Reverse is a work for eight dancers that reflects on the process of disconnecting from a community.  With music by composer and violist, Ljova, and composer and cellist, Joan Jeanrenaud, underlying this work is the notion that perhaps being more “connected” as a society is actually making us more “disconnected” from one another.

Las Desenamoradas

A restaging of the 1967 Pomare piece by DanceUSF faculty member John Parks

This piece, inspired by Frederico Garcia Lorca’s play The House of Bernarda Alba, depicts with striking emotion the frustration of sisters restricted to their heartless mother’s household and the destruction of love and life in that environment.

Pity Party choreographed by Guest Choreographer Rosie Herrera

Rosie Herrera is a graduate of the New World School of the Arts with a BFA in Dance Performance.  She has danced with Freddick Bratcher and Co, Animate Objects Physical Theater, Bill Doolin and Camposition Hybrid Theater Project. As a rehearsal director, co-choreographer and performer Rosie was in residency at the Chat Noir Cabaret at Dream Night Club in South Beach with the interdisciplinary performance ensemble CircX. Her choreography has been presented by the Florida Dance Festival, Dot Fifty One Gallery, The Emerging Choreography Series at Excelo Dance Space and internationally as part of the Digital World Institute.
