Have you ever played this game with your child when they were a baby?  The one where you stand your child up on your lap and you hold their arms open wide and say, “How big are you?  Are you SOOOOO big?” 

I can remember playing that game over and over again with my best friend’s  children and then again with my own son.  This easy, priceless game was always sure to produce the largest smiles and giggles.

This weekend I had a flashback to this bonding moment I had with all of them.  Not because I was playing with a baby, but because it hit me that there are many ways we can train our children to be “SOOO BIG” as they grow.  Are we taking the time to do so?

For example do we help them with the following not only during the holiday season but all year long? 

Do we encourage our children to give those in need?  Do we express concern for others?  Do we show respect for others especially our elders?    Do we show gratitude for what others do for us? Do we allow our pride to get in the way of things, or do we show them how to be humble and let ourselves be wronged?

By teaching our children to maintain these positive attributes throughout the entire year, we are indeed training them to be SOOOO BIG!

It’s not always easy to be SOOOO BIG! Yet, when you look back and see these wonderful attributes in your child….I can guarantee you that your heart will also be SOOOO BIG!
