Last month the AYA Eco Club sponsored some very green activities for Green Week and Earth Day. Sarah Mari, ninth-grade, won the guess how many “Green and Blue” candies in a school wide guessing game. Members of the club gave each of the K2-5th Gr. teachers class birdfeeder kits (donated by Home Depot) to hang on their class windows. Members also participated in an “on-campus” Great American Clean-up. Members sold “AYA’s GREEN” T-shirts and had a Green and Blue bake sale. During the bake sale members gave out small toys to children who pick up garbage, sold reusable bags made by the 3rd and 5th grade students, and sold collard greens and mint from the school's hydroponic garden.

Someone walks in with a beautiful sun ripened tomato, and I asked "where did you get that from?"
AYA's hydroponic garden was their response.
YUM!
