Viewfinder: National Night Out
Did we see you or your neighbors at National Night Out Tuesday evening? Click through the photos to find out.
The community gathered Tuesday evening to celebrate National Night Out, an event aimed at creating police-resident partnerships and let crooks know the city is fighting back against crime.
Officers with the Temple Terrace Police Department put on demonstrations at the Temple Terrace Rec Center, and firefighters showed off an engine and some of their equipment. There was also a rock climbing wall, a bounce house, sand art and free giveaways from local businesses for families.
Neighborhoods were encouraged to host block parties, and Community Service Officer Tracy Mishler said four signed up to have police officers visit their celebrations.
If you had a block party and snapped a few pictures, or if you took some nice shots at the Rec Center, please email your photos to ashley.reams@patch.com like readers Anthony Diaz and Joseph Stanko did, and we’ll add them to the gallery. Or you can simply add them to the gallery yourself by clicking the “Add more photos & videos” link like reader David M. Long did. Thanks so much, guys!

What a great community event last night. Thank you to the businesses who came out to support this fun filled event. It was great being able to get up close to the various emergency equipment on hand including the Lifeflight Helicopter.

This is always a wonderful community event, with lots of fun for kids and adults. I noticed our Mayor, City Manager, Police Chief and all five City Council members were present. What makes Temple Terrace a great place to live is our sense of community.
