UPDATE: Temple Terrace Man Sought in Club Ice Shooting Death
Tampa Police officials say a fight broke out at the Ybor City club in the early morning hours of Sept. 14, leading to the death of a 24-year-old man.
Update: Bryan Jefferson, the suspect wanted for murder, is in custody, according to the Tampa Police Department. He turned himself in to TPD shortly after the department issued a media release Tuesday afternoon.
An 18-year-old Temple Terrace man is wanted in connection with a shooting that took place at Ybor City’s Club Ice last Friday.
According to Tampa Police Department spokeswoman Andrea Davis, Bryan Jefferson of 11101 Normandy Circle, No. 4, in Temple Terrace is a suspect in the death of Ricky Ligons, 24, of Tampa.
Davis said the department was notified at 2:26 a.m. Sept. 14, about a fight behind the 1704 N. 17th St. club. “The suspect shot at the group fighting,” Davis wrote in a media release.
When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound. That man was Ligons. He was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he later died. Another person was also shot.
Jefferson has been identified as a suspect in the case. He is wanted on second-degree murder charges and is considered armed and dangerous, Davis said.
Anyone with information on Jefferson’s whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS. Information can also be reported online via the Crime Stoppers website. Anonymous tips are accepted.
