Redevelopment Area Site of ‘National Plug-In Day’ Celebration

This is the first time that Temple Terrace is participating in the national event, which promotes the benefits of electric vehicles.

While the City of Temple Terrace waits for developer Vlass Temple Terrace to submit a revised plan for the residential portion of the downtown redevelopment project, the downtown area will be the site of Temple Terrace’s National Plug-In Day Sept. 23.

The event promotes the benefits of electric vehicles (EVs) through simultaneous celebrations in cities nationwide. This is the second year that National Plug-In Day is being observed across the country, and the first time Temple Terrace is participating.

“Thousands of people in some 60 cities coast-to-coast—more than double last year’s count—will celebrate plug-in vehicles for the second annual National Plug In Day,” according to a press release from Plug In America, the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association, which are national organizers of the event. “Events from Spokane to Sarasota will highlight the fun, clean-air benefits, and cost-savings of electric cars with ride ’n drives, rallies, tailgate parties, charging-infrastructure demos, EV-readiness awards, and more.”
