Publix Pharmacy Coming to Moffitt

patients, employees and visitors won’t have to travel far to get the prescriptions they need thanks to a recently announced partnership between the hospital and Publix Super Markets.

According to a media release, the hospital currently has a specialized pharmacy, but doesn’t offer the full-service features that Publix brings to the table.

“With the exceptional customer service reputation of an organization like Publix and the fact that both of our companies are Florida-based, this collaboration seemed like a natural fit,” said Braulio Vicente, senior vice president of Moffitt Hospital & Physician Group Operations. “We know Publix will continue to provide the high level of service our patients and employees have come to know and expect from Moffitt.”

The new pharmacy will offer services such as the ability to drop off prescriptions on the Moffitt campus for pickup at a neighborhood store, mail order capability and expanded hours of operation.

Publix is expected to open its pharmacy doors at Moffitt on July 2, according to the release.
