Police Will Have DUI Checkpoint June 24
If you’ve been drinking, think twice before you get behind the wheel.
The Temple Terrace Police Department will have a safety checkpoint in the area of 53rd Street and 113th Avenue beginning at 10 p.m. June 24.
Officers will be looking for drivers under the influence of alcohol, according to a press release issued by Mike Dunn, the city’s public information officer.
“The goal of Friday night’s checkpoint is to reduce the number of alcohol-related crashes, injuries and fatalities on Florida roadways by conducting high-visibility enforcement operations and increasing public awareness of the state’s DUI-related incidents,” the release states. “The Temple Terrace Police Department has a zero-tolerance DUI policy and aggressively enforces the state’s DUI traffic laws.”
After police finish the checkpoint, they will be conducting a saturation patrol within the city limits from midnight to 4 a.m.
