That’s where you come in Tampa Bay! We want to hear your thoughts on the obstacles our country faces and your ideas for tackling them.

God needs to help the state of Florida, taking early voting down to 8 days and the long lines at the voting places, some people standing in line over 3 and 4 hours. This state should be embarressed as to the goings on during an election process. Are we not going into the 21st century with blinders on why can they not fix this problem maybe they should ask God.

We missed a great oportunity to save America last night. I thought we had awoken the silent majority but it seems that it was only the Entitlement Majority. Everything will change now. Free enterprise, work ethic, price of everything, freedom, and the Constitution. If you never lived in the 1950s or 60s, it won't mean much to you. Young people don't have a clue how wonderful America was in the 50s. You didn't have to lock your door, there were jobs and no credit cards. Everyone paid their way and knew how to work. People could do business on a handshake and life was good. I'm thankful that I have those memories. Now it's Party Party, Obama phones, Food cards and Entitlement. They are turning us into a third world country that produces less and less. Welcome to Obama World.

You forgot to mention the really good benefits of the 50s. Women could not be equally educated, paid, hold jobs, make decisions about their bodies, etc. Blacks could not vote, hold jobs, get an eduction, etc. Only white men in control thinking only of themselves. Commies were coming to take over our lifestyle unless we could hide under our desks and live through the nuclear attacks. We did not question our government and stand up for our beliefs without risking being called a Commie and arrested for treason. Yea, life was great for the robotic people of the 50s who accepted everything that was spoon fed to them.

BillyRay, The 1950's were good if you were a privileged white male. However, if you were black and lived in the segregated South, or if you were a woman seeking a job that paid equal to a man's job, or if you were gay and feared for your life if you came out of the closet, then your life wouldn't be so wonderful. It appears to bother you that in 2012, America has a black president. You disparagingly refer to Pres. Obama as an entitlement President who is turning our nation into a third world country. America made the right decision last night voting for Pres. Obama instead of Mitt Romney. America is continuing to move forward into the 21st century and people like you dreaming of a return to the 1950's will simply be left behind.

Oh my, someone who wants to take us back to the "fabulous 50's."

However, while I remember with fondness the wisdom of President Eisenhower, that was generally a time of disadvantaging of women, of non-whites, and of many immigrant groups. I can still remember the names that my gentle and well-meaning mother, who knew no better because that is what she was taught by her parents in the 20's, called people who were not Irish or German, and certainly those who were not white.

Folks, the Leave it to Beaver generation is something we need to be left to the history books, and maybe to DVD's for those who want to watch those shows as well as Burns & Allen and the Nelsons.

Too many white Americans (yes, with my Irish heritage I'm certainly one of those) live in some mental fog imagining that those who disagree with their own vision of what society should be, are somehow less than them, and are part of some "entitlement generation."

That's simply a bunch of cow patties.

I didn't vote for him but since he won we all are required to get behind him and do our part. You still have to respect someone of position whether you like them or not. He has promised to work across party lines so I hope the Repubs will try to do the same and pass some kind of compromise on the taxes/spending before the current plan expires at the end of this year.

David, et al..............for many who claim "Christianity," it's amazing how little is actually known by the followers. Not say you are one, David, but what you said made me think "God" and the bible...........God isn't a respector of person, nor should we be.

Another who's attained a "higher" level in life is no better than you or I. Sorry, but the President shouldn't be treated any different than the person working at your local 7-11.

If people want to talk about unifying and moving forward, hearts and minds must change. The politicians want to continue to place us all into little groups to give us our different rights........how about we stop placing people into groups and start demanding justice for all of us?

By the way David, to any person actually paying attention, it's quite obvious there's been way to much Bi-Partisanship in DC. Take a look at legislation that destroys our "Civil Liberties" and you will see the R's and the D's jumping on board. They passed 40,000 new laws last year........and it wasn't just one of the gangs, it was the elephant-jackass party that did it.

in the trying times we are facing as a nation, i think the things we need most are
the reassurance that our constitution will be preserved as we know it,that a real effort be made to make all people that are receiving government assistance be accountable for EVERY dollar they receive is going toward needs (not wants) ...and that the man who is our "leader" cut his own wasteful spending as well as living explicitly by the oath of office that was bought for him

I will never understand how it is possible to give Exxon a "free ride" for all the taxpayer billions given to it and save one's wrath for the homeless, the elderly, the children and those whose homes were destroyed by disasters. The mean-spirited comments by those who oppose President Obama -- for a reason known to them, but rarely stated in public-- are amazing. Just what hate is hidden in the phrases "constitution preserved", "living explicitly by the oath of office bought for him" only the writer knows. Shame, shame, shame.

It has been the Republican goal to objectify people as "others." You could see it with the handling of Romney. When did we most hear about Romney was a Mormon? It was during the Republican primaries. Even if it was the repeated "Oh, the fact that he is a MORMON doesn't bother me;" it meant constantly making sure that his religion was at the front of every discussion, almost like a backhanded compliment; keeping it out there as a dog whistle because they knew that it struck a chord in the base.

Then when the national election was between Obama and Romney, the mention of his religion was rarely ever heard about again. What you mainly saw from Republicans were these same portrayals of Obama as some sort of "other." Actually, not even a singular "other," but objectifying him as some other religion, some other nationality, some other completely different political philosophy, etc. This is the strongest tool that the Republican party has to fight their political races and to divide the country by compartmentalizing people into these groups with varying and conflicting (and mostly fictitious) agendas.

For anybody who was spewing such vile rhetoric on sites like Patch, at family picnics or at the local pub, no matter the greater good that you perceived and used to justify it in your head, I think that today is a day for looking in the mirror as the whole Republican party ought to be doing right now. Yesterday, this great nation overwhelmingly rejected that way of thinking.

You obviously didn't follow the Republican primaries because the fact Romney was a Mormon was rarely, if ever mentioned. I'm actually shocked it didn't play more of a role, but it was so minimal, I'm not sure what you heard during the primaries.

And you do realize it wasn't an overwhelming rejection. There really is two Americas. Take a look at the map of the US............the majority of the country is "Red," with a small percentage being "Blue"..........according the land being occupied. If you look at how the people vote, it's nearly 50/50....but the thing is, the majority of the country doesn't vote for any of the insanity so who's to say what the nation truly thinks?

To all those who are happy, I hope you will feel the same way in 4 years, for me I am sad because I am a small business owner who is in bad shape, for the last 5 days, I have no sales, I have bills piling up & have no idea how they are going to be paid, I keep hoping some kind people would come support my business but no such luck for example today I had 4 people come in my store 1 was just looking around out of kindness I told her if you need any help to please let me know, she completely ignored what I said & left, second person was a good friend who came to say hi & she left; then next person a young guy who has been in my store before, he wanted to sell me some cheap makeup made in china, I have told this idiot I don't want it but he refuses to listen, oh here's the worst part he lies & tries to tell me it is made locally even though the sticker says made in china; then next person wanted to save me money on card processing fees unfortunately he didn't realize I have not had sales in 5 days so what good is saving me money when there are no sales; many locals tell me season is about to start but I am supposed to patiently wait for this to happen, while waiting I have a question for the locals who are here year round, how come you don't support small business like mine & instead go to Ross, Marshall's or Walmart all of you claim President Obama is making economy great & how well you are all doing, sorry If it sounds like I am ranting but sad truth is this is my reality....

Dee, Why are you blaming the financial problems of your small business on Pres. Obama? First of all, it is your responsibility to create a viable business model for a small downtown business. Second, Why do you continually blame our Democratic President and not our so-called Republican businessman Gov. Rick Scott and the Republican Legislature in Tallahassee? Remember, in Florida we have had only Republican governors for the last 14 years and both the Senate and the House of Representatives have been under Republican control since 1996. Somehow Republicans always try to blame all of Florida's economic problems solely on Pres. Obama when it was their own short sighted policies that caused Florida's economic problems. It was Republican policies that underfunded education, that failed to properly diversify Florida's economy beyond tourism and construction, that kept us as a low wage service economy, all the while enriching themselves in Tallahassee. You really need to stop blaming Pres. Obama for the financial problems of your small business. Maybe you should start looking for a new business model or at least new ways to generate additional income that will help your business succeed into the future.

Dee, I was a small business owner my self during the Bush Admin. I had the same problem and that administration did nothing to help...Government can't produce customers, only demand can. Don't know what kind of business you have but maybe you have to rethink it...My self, I started my business because my position as a defense contractor was mothballed during Bush...Now, 18 months into Obamas' term, I am back to work in the defense industry...and my wife and I go out of our way to support mom and pop shops...I get depressed when I do go to Wally World...
Good luck with your business but again, it's not Presidents job to bring in customers...You must create a demand for your business. That's how it works.

Claudia,
Democrats are at fault for the credit crisis and to job bills not making it out of the House of Representatives? Who has the majority in the House of Representatives? Buehler, Buehler, Bueher? Yes, a bill writen during the Carter administration was the start of the Maddie Fae, etc.. but I believe there were 3 decades of changing administrations that added to the legislation on it opening up credit more and more. Bush's push with a Republican Majority in the Congress pushed the bill to create more jobs on credit. Well, it wasn't just housing that created the credit bubble. Are you going to tell me that the steep decline in jobs and companies folding under the weight of their own credit didn't start in April 2008, you know about 9 months before Obama took office.
You are just as wrong as someone who blames this all on Bush. It is a Bi-Partisan mess. The legislation that brought us here was from both parties. Now if they can just play along we will be able to work our way out of it. But playing nicely isn't something we do well, in the last 12 years.

Holy crap, CLL, you obviously do not read any objective press.

Private sector job growth during Obama's first term has been excellent, but the big problem has been all of the public sector job cuts due to state and local government cut backs.

Now, we still need more job growth from the private sector, and now that the election is over, and life is more predictable for business managers, that is something which will happen.

Then, as state and local government see more tax revenue increases with an improving economy, they will be able to bring back some of those teachers, police, and firefighters and other critical positions.

Why are we arguing about who is at fault? The question was how to fix it. Obama isn't going to be fired, so give that up. The Republicans still have a majority in the House and the Democrats have a majority in the Senate. That is fact. Now, how do you recommend we fix it. I don't care if you're happy or sad about the election. Come up with a solution. If you can't propose a solution, then quit bitchin' if Washington doesn't do much better. Complaining does not good.

Not a full solution, but a start:
1) Flat tax at approximately 18%, no loopholes, you earn an income you pay
2) Both sides fix the Veteran's Job bill, the construction angle is great for many of our former service men that are not equiped for College Life (like My Brother)
3) Work with the group of Corporations (AT&T, Microsoft, etc) that want to remove the loopholes from Corporate Taxes and go with a lower, but surprisingly fair flat tax.
4) MOST IMPORTANTLY, Stop thinking Left/Right start thinking American.

Would love to see a flat tax. I am wholeheartedly against having the fruits of my labor stolen to pay the interest in the debt, but if you are going to rob US, at least make it even across the board.

Michael D, what do you think of the proposed Wall Street tax? These people rape us left and right, without paying their fair share. Implement a freaking 1% Wall Street tax instead of taxing the "rich," which actually does nothing to the "elite 1%."

By the way, I wonder how many are aware of the income tax being paid to criminal bankers? Your income tax pays the interest on the debt created out of thin air by the Federal Reserve. Man, what a racket........create money out of thin air, loan it to others with interest............all on the backs of the American taxpayers.

Then you add in fractional reserve banking where the banks can create money out of thin air to loan to others with interest and the politicians want me to believe we need to bailout the banks??

We lose our jobs, lose our homes, families, lives.............but the bankers can continue to create money out of thin air to continue screwing us all. Something has to change and it has nothing to do with birth control, big bird, religion, etc.

How would I tackle America's problems as President? First, I would use the best information available to make decisions. As a technocrat myself I love talking data points, but I find it difficult to keep track of all the different Government websites.

Google has solved this problem. They have aggregated data from various, verified data sources and created a very user friendly front end search tool. http://www.google.com/publicdata.

Take a look at this result set. It displays healthcare cost of various countries around the globe. Note: You can make changes to this, select your own countries or even use the Google Public Data site to find out who has the lowest cost and longest life expectancy. Weather your researching healthcare, debt, unemployment data or something else you'll probably find it here.

Dee, I think we are all very sorry for your troubles and certainly don't want to contribute to your suffering in any way. That said, the failure rate for small businesses is extremely high. Owning and running any small business is risky and should be undertaken only by those who can tolerate risk. Even businesses with good locations, desirable products, and sufficient capital fail everyday. I know the difficult job market in Florida has made running a small business seem attractive. However, the most effective use of your time, energy, talents and skills might be to look for a job rather than spend your days waiting for customers to come to you. Again, I am so sorry for your troubles. I hope you find help to either market your business more successfully or to find another way to earn a living.

Oh Lynda, you assume small business is risky this is only because people will go to a major department store not realizing will get ripped off by purchasing goods that are more expensive than a small mom & pop shop, quality is questionable, I emphasize on checking the label you will notice many merchandise Department Stores carry are made in China & they are overpriced reason being is they have a lot of overhead, my business on the other hand is small therefore I don't have a lot of overhead, most of my merchandise is Made in USA & Canada, I have many handmade merchandise that you will not find in any major stores & most important of all reasonable prices to accommodate any budget & personalized service so that you are not running all over the store trying to find somebody to help you, I am honest with my customers if something doesn't look good, I will tell them even at the risk of losing a sale, my customers appreciate that as for your advice that I look for another job, I have never been a quitter, I may get discouraged sometime and say I had enough but honestly I love my business & it is the only thing I know how to do well, many people know I work 6 days from 11 am till 8, 9, 10 or 11 pm so quitting & starting something else at 55 years old is not a solution for me, all I am asking for is credit for my hard work, you are welcome to come visit my store & see for yourself it is not difficult to find me, I thank you for your honesty & wish you all the best :)

Dee, you started off by saying that you were sad that Obama was re-elected as if Romney would have solved all your problems. Then you go on to state all of your problems of which none had to do with anyone who is President. I have gone by your store many, many times. I have not stopped in because I truly cannot tell what you are selling. I even asked another shop owner whether or not you were a consignment shop because your window dressing is so unappealing. I am not saying this to be mean, but you should take this, and the other constructive criticisms posted, and do something with it. I am very supportive of local businesses even to the point of being willing to pay a bit more just to shop local, but if you do not have what I want, or nothing propels me to enter your store, then you lose.

Hello Dee , Glad to hear your business did well today. I have heard many times on both sides , dems and reps of all types say "its not the governments " job to create jobs. So why all the bashing on both sides ? I have been self employed for many years , and never once try and put the blame on anyone else but myself when business is slow . You know it comes in cycles all during the year. To be honest with you I have not seen a BIG change in business the last 4 years. Some people always look for an excuse for low sales. Iam my own worst critic , so when things slow down , I look at what Iam doing or not doing , I dont look at washington dc to complain to . I believe the ones who will be hurting over this election will be defense contractors , as we know Obama is for peace NOT war . We all know that most defense contractors are republican owned . Is this a good reason to get us into another war ? I think not.

Mike believe me please, I was not blaming the government in any shape or form, I beg of you please read what I wrote, read a few times & you will see, the topic of this post is How would you tackle America's problems as President, that's exactly what I would like to know since President Obama's campaign promise was he wanted to make small business strong therefore for my question to him is very legit as a small business owner I have a right to know what his plan is also he made a comment "You didn't build that, you had help along the way, the roads were built so that people can drive to your business" those were his words, please understand for the last 5 days I have been feeling horrible mostly I kept it to myself hoping it would get better so Mike give me some credit you of all people should know as a business owner sometimes it gets the better of us, yesterday I was reaching out for somebody, anybody for little comfort but instead I was made to feel even worse, made me feel like I am a failure even though I am trying my best, its a constant battle, last Wednesday, Thursday, Friday zero sales, Saturday made a little bit which wasn't enough, Sunday, Monday zero again, Tuesday I was closed, yesterday was again zero & who knows what will happen next so my conclusion I won't bother anybody because apparently nobody cares, I accept the fact that I am on my own & thanks for a lesson well learned!

You took my comments all wrong . I was not speaking of you , sorry if you thought otherwise. I was asking a serious question when I asked about the government saying its not their job to make jobs . This was no reflection on you . When Obama said you did not "build that" ! What he meant was you did not build the "road" the business was on . I heard him say this . The reps were trying hard to spin it and say he said you did not build your business . This was not the case. Just like Libya , they needed something else besides the # of jobs to win the election . They knew Americans were too smart to blame Obama on the number of jobs

Actually, he was saying ALL contributed to the building of the businesses........people who encouraged you, helped you along the way.....Govt services that gave opportunities, etc. It had nothing to do with the road the business was built upon. He was preaching "Collectivism" and the people ate it up.

I understood what he was saying, but do not agree with him what-so-ever.

"A Nazi in the pocket is worth four in the Bush"...read the following article found on the web and tell me why you'd want to vote for the Republican-Nazi Party? There is much more information about the connections of the Bush family and their political climb to all sorts of "like-minded" supporters. Keep researching - you will be as SHOCKED and dismayed as I was.

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article3255.htm

Romney was heavily backed by the Koch brothers. What is their tie, if any, to the Bush doctrine? I think that it is important to know that the Koch brothers are backing segregation and the end to school busing in America...sound familiar? This will take our nation's strides for equality back 75 years.

Think before you vote Republican...there's a Nazi in the woodshed.

I am well aware of the Nazi connections.......heck, grandaddy Prescott Bush was "Trading with the Enemy."

But the thing is, if you look at many of the doctrines espoused by the "left," they align quite well with the Nazi agenda.

Bye Bye Romney

10:57 am on Friday, November 9, 2012

A black Christian with the middle name of Hussein was elected over a white man of Mormon faith. Amazing!

Americans didn't fall for the endless hate-filled rhetoric and those nasty "n" emails that the Republican ("Nazi") Party and their supporters sent around our otherwise proud nation with the intent to increase hatred and divisions between races and economic classes of Americans.

Americans didn't go for the old Bush scare tactics (remember the colored lights Bush elevated during his second run to scare Americans) like those we still read in this blog about INCREASE TAXES.

And we didn't believe that Romney was up to the job, plain and simple.

A man with dark skin, can help families of ALL financial backgrounds obtain affordable healthcare AND get our nation (along with the private sector) back to work. But only an FOOL would imagine that the worst depression since 1929, which Americans polled when leaving the voting booth blamed squarely on BUSH, could be reversed in 3-4 years when the recession of the 1980's took 10 years to resolve.

I HOPE that the message to all elected officials was clear...go back to Washington, work together, or "you're fired"...using the words of America's biggest JACKASS, Donald Trump.

Ronald Reagan is dead and so is his era and doctrine. America is moving FORWARD, so either GET WITH IT or GET OUT OF THE WAY. Everyone is needed to put the American Prosperity Train back on its tracks!

It's time that we all get WITH the program.

For those of you unaware, both the R's and the D's voted to destroy the Bill of Rights and Obama signed it into law and of course, Romney said he would have signed it to.

Obama and the R and D gang also voted against Freedom of Speech when near the Oligarchs. That's right folks, according to law, your 1st Amendment is dead if you are near the President. Do not believe me........do some freaking research.

To have a third candidate even invited to the debates and given federal funding they must receive 5% of the popular vote the previous election. The last third party candidate to win the election was Fillmore in 1853 with the Whig Party. During the 1860 election there were more parties due to the Democratic Party being fractured over the slavery issue. I have heard that Lincoln didn't win the Republican Party, but the republican Party. But have found books on either side of that issue. The biggest issue is the society we live in, most do not even know their was more than two candidates.

Dee, I do not believe it will ever happen due to the current fraud that is Democracy. The people in this country have been forced into the "duality" thinking in every single facet of life.

Watch the news. What do they do? They give an issue.......and then have two "experts" banter over opposite sides, as if those are the only two options. It's become you are either for something or against something. Take a look at 97% of the views parroted on the Patch.......people are playing their role in the duopoly.....like good little sheep they are choosing one side.

Whatever you do....do not be like me, one who actually uses discernment when coming to a conclusion. Are you aware of Dr. Ron Paul? Him and others like him have been speaking out about many things BEFORE they have occurred and the media was able to get the masses to believe he was a crazy kook, with crazy ideas. Oh, sure, they are only the crazy ideas that led to the founding of the country........but what does a Dr. know......we always need to back the opinions of those attorneys. People seem to hate lawyers in real life, but they sure love having attorneys rule over them in elected positions.

Seriously, I was so involved Dr. Pauls campaign that I witnessed all the chicanery from R's......but especially the media. Practically every where Dr. Paul went, 1,000's came to hear him speak and the media blacked it out. If he got ANY backing from the press, he would be the newly elected Pres.

I've actually lived my entire life being as a Contrarian. How others cannot question what is going on this world is beyond me. The Matrix isn't as fictitious as people choose to believe.

You really want to know how to get a true statesman elected.........turn off every single television in America. Until the masses break free from the grip of television PROGRAMMING, there will be no changes for the better. Any person relying on the presstitutes in the lamestream media for real news are living in a fantasy world. The Republicans were protecting the rich again today while Pres. Obama was protecting the poor and the middle class. Earlier today, the president stated that in order to avoid the "fiscal cliff", "We have to combine spending cuts with revenue." And he said he'll be asking "the wealthiest Americans to pay a little more in taxes." The Democrats even stated that they were willing to retain all of the Bush-era tax cuts except for those whose income is above $250,000. In response, Republican House Speaker John Boehner said that he was absolutely opposed to raising any taxes on the wealthy as a way to deal with the country's debt and deficit. Boehner is acting like the Republicans won the election. I'm not really sure why anybody except for Romney and his rich friends vote for these Republicans anymore. Let's hope that Pres. Obama remains strong on this issue and that he doesn't allow the Republicans to force the middle class to pay for all of the deficit reduction.

So continue borrowing money from China to give provide foreign aid to dictators..............but raise taxes on Americans? Yep, that's the answer.

They can raise taxes on every single American and it will do nothing to stop the inevitable. Change your mindset, Joe. How about the Federal Govt discontinues the looting of poor Americans to give to rich people in other countries?

Stop the spending.................not increase the revenue.

By the way, every single time they increase the ceiling for the debt, they are voting to increase prices for you and I. That's both the D's and the R's who favor the inflation tax. Anytime they vote to give away "free" stuff, that's a vote to increase prices for you and I. Practically every single time they vote "for" anything it is actually a round-about tax on the middle class.

They can spout all the "helping the middle class" rhetoric they want, but take a look around, are you happy with what the R's and the D's have given you??

The people clearly stated that we will not allow the Republicans to turn the clocks back on women's rights, that we support many things including: diversity, the middle class, the people who go to work for a living (unlike Mitt Romney), that everyone will be treated equally, and that our government will not only favor the wealthiest in society. The biggest losers of the election were Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Karl Rove, Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock, and of course the Romney/Ryan team. These people and their failed policies are clearly on the wrong side of history and we can only hope that they will all just disappear into the history books.

What about all of our "rights" to not have the fruits of my labor stolen to fund so many things we do not agree with?

And my bible says Adam and Eve NOT Adam and Steve ! But the gays can do what they want thats their business . But marriage between 2 of gays is not ok. Wow Mike, I didn't know you felt this way, I'd like to ask you & I am assuming correct me if I am wrong from your previous posts you were supporting President Obama & at the time all of us knew he was for gay union & abortion so knowing all this why did you support him?? now if you ask me what my thoughts are on these 2 sensitive issues, all I can tell you is I am neither against it or for it as long as nobody crams it down my throat & tells me I have to choose, with that said we also need to think about another point you made gays being able to adopt again I am not against it or for it, if a child is being abused by his/her natural parents & was going to be able to live in a loving non abusive home with a gay couple give it a trial period as long as the gay couple uses discretion some things are meant to be kept private which goes for a straight couple as well, now as for your rights as a father, you should have the same right to be able to adopt & not be turned down just because you are single & same thing goes for a single mother who wants to & is able to provide a wonderful home to a neglected child who is being tossed around different foster homes, this system needs to be implemented so that every child is properly taken care of in a wholesome environment...
As for abortion, I am against it but I don't think it is governments business to make that decision, also everybody needs to think about the consequences whether they are ready for a baby, if not use protection!

I ran out of room, to continue with abortion issue if everybody is cautious when they get into a physical activity or relationship there really wouldn't be a reason for abortion which realistically is impossible in this generation so best to ask yourself if you are ready for pregnancy & if the answer is no use protection to avoid being in a position you are not ready for.

Mike Chubre,
I've been questioning others about the "rights" of the father since I was a teenager. It has never made sense to me how the State can force a man to financially provide for a child.......regardless what the father thinks..........but the very same State will not allow the same father to have a say whether a conceived child lives or dies.

Ultimately, men do not have any reproductive "rights," only the female.
How's that for equality?

By the way, the Govt has no business being involved in the marriage business. Like many things, remove the Govt from being involved and more problems will be solved.

Gary............contraception..........in the form of the female "birth control" actually allows for conception to take place. Due to the nature of the control, the body believes it is pregnant and doesn't allow attachment to the uterine wall. So to those of us who believe life begins at conception, theoretically the majority of the birth control options equate to abortions.

Who knows how often conception occurs, but rest assured, life is created and destroyed due to most contraception.

Who is WILLIAM BINNEY?

Of course the Gates are hellbent on lowering the population.

The father of Bill Gates sat on the board of Planned Parenthood.........originally called "The Birth Control League." That lovely "liberal" group founded by Margaret Sanger, a fervent believer in the destruction of the "negroes." People hail Planned Parenthood as some sort of social justice center, when it was created to stifle the black community. 60+ millions aborted black babies......I'd say they've accomplished what they set out to do and we have so many of the D's applauding this liberation of the po' folk.

And if you really want to understand the madness.......look into Eugenics. The Gates are Eugenicists............oh, sure, they are hailed as Philanthropists, but they are straight killers. Yes, I know, I am crazy..........but where would a crazy person come up with this stuff? Especially stuff that can be easily researched by any person who can access the internet.

For all you who back Planned Parenthood, Google: Margaret Sanger and Eugenics.
Same with Bill Gates and Eugenics. I'm not the crazy person..........these people are.

Gary, you are nit picking but I'll indulge you we as in tax payers, now let me ask you how would you feel if a complete stranger came up to you & wanted you to pay for her contraceptive;
A. Sure I'll pay for it.

B. Let me get to know you & we'll see.

C. No, I will not pay.

So Gary the choice is yours & you only get to choose one!

Dee,

Wasn't nit-picking, just wanted clarification. With the knowledge I have today, and the three options you provided, I would go for option "A". Make contraception available to everyone, via direct funding and/or regulation of health plans. Melinda Gate's has my vote regarding this topic.

Samuel,

The majority of the population (US & World) disagrees with your views on contraception, and I would assume the Gate's family. I personally know more Catholics & Christians that believe in using modern methods of birth control. Watch the Melinda Gates video again. I know, it's long (25 minutes) but well worth it. That's where the mainstream women's opinion is today. Time's and people change.

Samuel,

You can't believe everything you read. "Mike Adams is proof positive that there are conspiracy theorists out there who are so reality-challenged that they’ll believe virtually anything."

Dee When I spoke of fathers rights, i was not speaking of adoption by a single man , i was speaking of the rights of the father when it comes to the mother getting an abortion or not . If I conceive a child , today I have no rights to stop a woman from getting an abortion ??? And YES I knew Obama was ok with gay marriage and abortion , however Iam sure most people dont agree with 100% of both the dems and the reps ?? Right ?? Also Dee , Children need to have a mother and a father , end of story . No ifs ands or buts about it . Anything else is unnatural

Mike I see your point unfortunately father's rights is right out the window now because the mother is the one who carries the baby for 9 months & if she doesn't want to not much can be done about it which is a tough call as for not agreeing with 100% of dems & reps, you are so right, I wonder about something President Obama is for abortion & gay union, I wonder how he would feel if he was faced with that within his family, its a tough call.
As for children needing a mother & a father, I was blessed to be raised like that but I have cousins who got divorced & raised their children as single females which was very difficult & now their children is all grown up with many problems.

The last few years have been the only years I have ever heard that the president is responsible for making jobs and helping our business grow??? Why is this ? Being in business for many years myself, I never once put the blame on anyone but myself. Its easy for people to point fingers , however maybe Iam not in the type of business that depends on the governments actions ? Gov Scott has claimed all year long he has brought many jobs to Florida ? One reason Romney could not be seen with Scott this election as they would of contradicted each other BIG TIME.

President Obama's campaign promise was to make small business strong so we shall see if & how this can be done, in the meanwhile all we can do is wait & pray!
As for how things go for survival of small business, my business relies on sales but if the economy is shaky & unemployment is high the demand for my merchandise goes down, consumers are forced to cut their spending then all my hard work goes down the drain, how do I feel about that?? not very well, how is my outlook?? I am depressed, what am I going to do about it?? hope things change!

Forward and straight on to morning... The first thing our representatives need to do is implement meaningful campaign financing reform to get the unlimited monies out of the process. Who really gives massive amounts of campaign contributions expecting nothing in return for their investments? We need to level the playing fields making them more equal for all the people. When corporate CEO's make 500 times more than the average worker, whose wages have been stagnant over the last thirty years, then it is well past time for a change. We need to rein in the Wallstreet Banks too. Think about it, what tangible items do these entities produce? They are like vultures circling over the dead & dying carcasses of the masses. To fix the economy, more income needs to be made available to middle class workers who drive the ecomomy. One wealthy family can only consume so much, however, millions of middle class families that are earning a fair day's pay for a fair day's labor are able to consume much, much more. This in turn, would create more demand for more supply which would create more jobs in the private sector and generate more tax revenues to pay down national debt. It would also help small business owners like you, Dee. Until we tackle wealth inequality in our country though, the rich will continue to become richer, the middle class will continue to diminish in joining the ranks of the poor who will continue to become even poorer. Is this a country we want to leave for our children?

+2 for you David! Straight to the point, well stated and a conversation based on results, now we are getting somewhere. Rather than a conversation about ideology and hypothetical rhetoric.

Do you have any reference on CEO(s) making 500 times more than the average worker. I have seen studies showing 300 to 400 on average, but not the 500 you referenced.

Hey Gary, according to a recent study by CNN the CEO of Apple Tim Cook made $378million last year and it would take 6258 employees with an average salary of $60,400 to make up for what he is compensated. Michael Duke, CEO of Walmart made $17.6 million last year and it would take 792 employees with an average salary of $22,100 to make up for what he is compensated. So, yes there are a number of CEO's that are compensated more than 500 times the average worker out there and it is an obscene and morally wrong practice when so many in our society are struggling to get by and barely making ends meet.

Thanks David,

Before I repeat a statement I like to have a reference behind it. Additionally, I feel the same way you do about employee's compensation/benefits, and the direct correlation to the morality and humanity of our society.

My brother is a truck driver. Today he makes less than his father-in-law did 30 years ago, doing the same job. My brother's father-in-law retired in 1988 making more money than he does today. Additionally, he worked about 13 hours a week less, has a pension and way better health insurance.

The average worker lost significant ground over the last thirty years, and it's directly related to your comments about campaign finance. Certainly the wealthy need not steal any further from those that provide.

No Problem, Gary. I have read or seen the average CEO making 500 times the average worker from numerous sources. Finding the truth in today's media is like being a gold miner and having to shift through yards and yards of dirt to find that one nugget of truth. The truth is always there, you just have to seek it out and following the money usually aids in that endeavor.
